Kigenda.com was the creation of an Iowa mom who's young kids wanted to do everything and she was trying to figure out exactly what "everything" meant. 

Vicky Bauman left the sales force of a global organization in 2006 to stay home with her two little ones.   Although family income was greatly reduced, the emotional rewards were immense.  As her little ones grew, Vicky was interested in stimulating their minds and became a small business owner teaching computer classes to children ages 3 - 7 (Pint-Size Technology LLC, a provider of the Discovery Kids Puterbugs (R) Software).  While running Pint-Size Technology on a shoe-string budget and having limited discretionary income to do fun stuff with her kids, Vicky saw a need as a parent and as a small business owner that was not being met.  

As a mom, Vicky wanted to view EVERYTHING that offered something for kids!  She wanted to plan her activities wisely to make the best use of her discretionary dollars, needed an easy way to compare the schedules of local activities, and had a thirst for knowledge of all the businesses, events and organizations that had something to offer her family.

As a small business owner, Vicky saw that most advertising was very expensive, had long contracts that didn't fit the needs of her business schedule, and rarely hit her exact target audience.
